William H. Seward Yacht Club

 Founded in 1975!

Welcome to our website!

If it's club information that you need, look here first!

Learn about diesel-fueled boat heaters! This is a topic of immediate interest to Alaskan boaters, and who better to teach than the experts at Advance Diesel Service. Join us at the Snow Goose on Feb. 23 from 6-8 PM. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Download a flyer here.

Join us for a Saturday afternoon (2/11) session at Eagle Enterprises' new location on Old Seward. Topics covered will be life rafts, survival suits, and other safety equipment. Please RSVP to Gary Cannon (ganddcannon@gmail.com)as soon as possible. Download a flier by clicking here.

Attend the Anchors Aweigh Boat Show VIP Night on Feb. 8! The linked flyer explains all. The $10 price includes an early viewing of the show, meeting the new Seward Harbor Master, and getting two drink tickets. This is an excellent opportunity to meet the new harbor master and represent your club. Pre-registration is required but tickets are purchased at the door. Thanks to Gary Cannon and Deb Altermatt for arranging this.

The webmaster has fixed all broken links and added several links to Resources. Take a look!

Snow loads sink boats! We have a new site page that explains the dangers of the snow loads that our boats are accumulating. Get a cover or get a shovel!

The Club by-laws have changed. The Club fee-schedule has changed. The renewal form is different. This information has been updated on the site. Please use the 2012 join/renewal form: Click on the "Membership Information link, then on the "Join or Renew Information" link or click here.

The Seward Mariners' Memorial has a website. Visit often for updates on the project.

There's a new business in Seward! Need a place to work on your vessel that's dry? Check this flyer.

If you missed the excellent presentation on diagnosing electrical circuits, or just need to review, here's the Powerpoint!

The yacht club now has a Facebook site! Have a look. Thanks to Mike Busey, John Baker, and Sam Steele.

Local Cruising Guide: "Cruising Western Southcentral Alaska, Kenai Fjords", includes lots of local information about weather forecasting, safety, the phenomenon of williwaws and katabatic winds, as well as information about places to anchor and passes in Kenai Fjords National Park.
