Below are the write-in comments, in no particular order...

General

·          Perhaps driver of membership fee should be the "family" rate rather than the individual rate.

·          New members should pay a small 'facilities' fee.

Website

·          I've enjoyed it, better than doing a headline !

·          Website is “fantastic”

·          Sometimes I use the website.

Parking

·          All club members should police the parking lot (most common response-editor)

·          Parking spaces are vital and members only violate their fellow members rights when violating the rules.

·          Anyone should be able to call towing company

·          Board member should call towing company if violate is noticed.

·          Towing Company should police parking lot

·          Additional permits can be purchased from the city for $25, no need for WHSYC to issue 2.

·          Don’t tow until the board discusses and makes a clear policy.

·          Have tow service police lot, keeps members from being mad at each other.

·          Just tow anyone in violation.

·          Give some people an inch and they will take a mile.

·          First offense to be time-limited, say 30 day penalty.

·          Guests should NOT be allowed to park in lot – insufficient space !!!!!!

·          There should be a number to call for towing posted at the clubhouse.

·          Police should police parking lot

·          Hire someone to police parking lot

·          Add a second type of permit for non-holiday, non race weekends.

·          Membership chair/committee should police parking lot

·          Don't tow, revoke after 3rd offense, 50 $ fine for 1st and 2nd offense

·          Only allow guest parking if member comes in guests car.

·          Send letter on first offense or discuss

·          Give two warnings.

·          Parking rules should be enforced 24/7

Club Focus

·          We need at least one regatta per year.

·          “No opinion, but no objections”

·          Racing – keep trying!

·          Get cruisers together for sailing events

·          Focus building efforts on repairs.

·          Really enjoyed the wonderful BBQ and laid-back race held this year!

·          Keep up with maintenance; showers need work, I’ll Help!

·          Building is getting old and work / repairs needs to be organized and prioritized

Suggestions:

·          Get a gas grill, and new deck storm door, interior paint.

·          Do deck work to improve cart access.  Paint inside, capet replace, install doors.

·          I’m OK with the way things are now. Lack of participation and involvement is not necessarily a sign of failure.

·          Perhaps retirees are a resource that we have tapped.

·          Put in at least a dryer - even if we need to plug quarters !

·          Clean roof.

·          Lives are busy, you want to get out of harbor on weekend.

·          To get better involvement:

o         Invite someone to sponsor a sailing/boating related seminar as a winter seminar

o         Invite a club member who has cruised to share their experience

o         More informal events such as a potluck that don't require a lot of planning

o         Sailing swap meet

o         Meeting at west marine

o         Have club boat to teach sailing/racing

o         Have one or two cruising / racing/bbq events per season. Set up equipment exchange on the website

o         Find someone willing to assemble a sailing cookbook. .prizes for best entries.

o         Hold a winter potluck breakfast at the clubhouse some weekend.

o         Appoint 6 new members to advisory board, will get folks involved in decisions and increase participation non-voting role, but it would make them feel part of club.

o         Bring back picture in handbook,

o         A RumCup with a selected destination, motoring allowed with restriction on percentage of use, then have a beach potluck sort of a sail/log race.

o         We need a couple of mixer socials off-season - A BYOB w/snacks at a house. Volunteers home.
