International Coastal Clean up Event Wrap-up

We had a great turnout for the International Coastal Clean-up Day with about 25 volunteers joining club members to clean 4 beaches in  Resurrection Bay.  Saturday's weather was very calm and only a little damp, but the sea state contributed to some exciting dinghy maneuvers that thankfully did not result in anything more serious than some broken gear and some very salty clothes.  The beach crews picked up  over 40 bags of trash in Thumbs, Sunny, and the South and West beaches in Bulldog Cove.

  Afterwards, all of the crews were treated  to a delicious hot supper prepared by Linda Kumin, and prizes were  presented thanks to the generosity of Sailing Inc. and the Alaska Sea LifeCenter.
